The 42nd Episode of Facing Justice covers the last week of the Closing Statements. Aside from Khieu Samphan’s Defense Team Closing Statements, as well as the Civil Party’s and Prosecution’s final rebuttals, this episode also covers the final statements of the Accused and their counsels. This includes Nuon Chea’s statement that the crimes during Democratic Kampuchea were committed by incompetent or traitorous cadres as well as his apology to the Cambodian people as he held himself “morally responsible”. Also in this episode is Khieu Samphan stating his position that he had no intent to cause suffering to the Cambodian people and that he held no decision making position during Democratic Kampuchea.
